Wildlife tracking is an ancient human skill and one that is still really valuable today. Tracking helps us to connect to the more-than-human world as we get insights into the hidden lives of other animals and the relationships between different forms of life. It also helps us to switch on our senses and rewild ourselves as we are reminded that we are part of a wider ecosystem. Bird language is a vital aspect of tracking and involves paying attention to the calls on behaviour of birds and other wildlife and learning what they can teach us. Join us on an adventure of nature connection and discovery!

Track and sign identification (including feeding sign, feathers, droppings etc)
Reading animal movement and behaviour in tracks
Ecology through the lens of tracking
Observation, deduction and sensory awareness
Trailing - the art of following animals
Tracking games and scouting missions
Bird language sit spots
Mapping and journaling … and more!

Wild Crafting Weekend

During this weekend we will drop into the joy of physical crafts and have the opportunity to explore a variety of materials from wood and bark to bone and stone. We will also have a thread through the weekend of building relationship to fire and the craft of lighting and tending fire. For those who have also signed up to do the fire quest with us later in the year, this will be helpful preparation.
Crafting is a wonderful process that can bring deep satisfaction and meditative states. Taking something from a raw material and transforming it into a tool or object of beauty not only develops skills but brings about a transformation. With an understanding that the external mirrors the internal, this can support our own inner processes too.
