During this week you will be taken on a journey to experience deep nature connection and the cultural elements that can weave a healthy container for human development journeying through the archetypal energies of natural cycles. In this highly experiential week, you will get to play and learn in a hands-on way.  You will experience some of our favourite activities and games, hear stories and learn tools to integrate these activities and techniques into your educational or parenting settings.
 
We will explore how humans are wired to learn and what conditions best sets us up for success, drawing from indigenous wisdom and applying principles to our modern realities and context.
 
You will have opportunities to:
  • learn and experience core routines of deep nature connection including ways of dropping into your senses and your body to quieten the mind
  • reconnect to your inner child
  • connect with aspects of the natural world and learn about naturalist topics such as birds and bird language, animal tracking, bushcraft and survival skills
  • self-reflect on your journey so far with questions that can deepen personal growth
  • discuss the challenges and pitfalls that mentors face in working towards greater connection between individuals, community and nature
  • create safe environments for students to grow, experiment and make mistakes
  • practice games, activities and songs which guide people of all ages into deeper connection with nature
  • leave with an understanding of the 8-shields model and how this can be applied in your daily life, projects, parenting, planning, reflection and design
  • leave with an awareness of cultural elements that you can see you could enrich for yourself and your family/community with clear steps on how to manifest this

Unlike prior Art of Mentoring events ran in the UK, this will be a smaller, more intimate week with up to 40 adults total.
